Privacy policy
Quire: Scan & Translate · Effective 27 October 2026
In short: Quire does not collect any data. Your scans, photos, the text Quire reads and your translations stay on your device. There is no account, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking, and Quire has no server.
What stays on your device
- Scanned pages, imported photos and PDFs, and the text read from them, using Apple’s on-device text recognition.
- Translations, made with Apple’s on-device Translation. The first time you use a language, iOS downloads that language pack from Apple; Quire itself sends nothing.
- Signatures, reminders, receipts, tags and settings you create in Quire.
Permissions
- Camera: to scan documents. Photos are processed on the device.
- Photos: only the photos you choose to import, and exports you choose to save.
- Face ID: optional app lock. Apple handles the check; Quire never sees biometric data.
- Contacts: only when you choose to save a scanned business card, through Apple’s contact screen.
- Notifications: only for reminders you set on a document.
When data leaves your device
Only when you choose to: sharing, exporting, printing or emailing a document; saving a backup or automatic copies to a folder you pick (for example iCloud Drive); or turning on “Show in iPhone search”, which adds titles and text to your device’s own search index. These actions are handled by iOS and the services you choose.
Children
Quire does not collect information from anyone, including children.
